Tuesday June 19 – House Ways and Means Committee Passes Broadway South Legislation

• This morning I drove to Baton Rouge to present the Broadway South initiative to the House Ways and Means Committee. Our sponsor Senator Ed Murray flanked by economist Dr. Jim Richardson and myself explained to state representatives the statewide impacts of the passage of the Broadway South legislation. The committee agreed with our panel that the incentive package would create thousands of jobs, facilitate cultural education and understanding, and significantly boost the Louisiana state economy. SB 218 passed the House Ways and Means and is bound for the full House floor vote on Sunday afternoon!
