• Meeting with Dr. Ed Blakely, Recovery Czar of New Orleans
For the first time, I meet New Orleans reconstruction czar Dr. Ed Blakely, at his office in City Hall. This is another pivotal meeting for Broadway South. Dr. Blakely’s endorsement of the idea will give Broadway South amazing credibility and after an hour of his time, Dr. Blakely agrees and sees the importance of a downtown corridor. With his endorsement, Broadway South becomes the city’s official position for the renewal of the downtown corridor. This is a major stride for Broadway South and a wonderful relationship between Dr. Blakely and myself has been initiated.

• Broadway South Legislative Luncheon at the Monteleone Hotel
More than 45 legislators from across the metro region attend including councilpersons Arnie Fielkow and Stacy Head, UNO Chancellor, Dr. Tim Ryan, and many other local, prominent business leaders. At the luncheon, we raise general awareness and support for the idea, as the event is a major success and a definitive day in the life of Broadway South.
